Thirsty or hungry, walkers, cyclists, nature lovers, pet lovers, car drivers, all are welcome. The best walking trails around Lewknor – and some are suitable for baby-buggies – actually start and finish at The Leathern Bottle.

Situated close to the Ridgeway, one of only 13 National trails in England, there are literally dozens of beautiful walks in the surrounding Oxfordshire countryside; whether you prefer the open downlands to the West or the wooded countryside of the Chiltern Hills to the East. Try the Spring Bluebell Walk – a circular spring walk through a bluebell wood and nature reserve in the Chiltern Hills.

If you want to explore in more detail we suggest the following links and perhaps buying your own Ordnance Survey maps (the Landranger series with the pink cover no. 175 Reading and Windsor and no. 165 Aylesbury and Leighton Buzzard cover the immediate areas).
